MONTENEGRO - The skeletal remains of what was once envisioned as the "Adriatic Star" hotel stand as a silent monument to unfulfilled ambition on Montenegro's rugged coastline. Initiated in 1973, the Hotel AS was designed to be a grand resort, seemingly built to "sail above the Adriatic." However, its construction was abruptly halted, leaving the imposing concrete structure unfinished. Locals and visitors alike refer to it as "Yugoslavia's ghost ship," anchored permanently to the cliffs overlooking the sea. The video documenting the site highlights that the ambitious project was ultimately "left aground by greed and scandal," preventing its completion. Today, the abandoned edifice offers panoramic views of the sea through its empty window frames, a stark reminder of the grand plans that never materialized. The site, now ruled by silence, continues to draw attention for its dramatic presence and the intriguing story behind its abandonment.
