
ASEAN Summit 2025: A Historic Milestone for Regional Cooperation
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia hosted the 46th ASEAN Summit, which concluded on May 27, 2025. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim lauded the event as 'the most fruitful in history.' The summit produced a Kuala Lumpur Declaration outlining ASEAN's long-term vision for 2045. Furthermore, significant progress was made in collaborations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and China. Addressing regional challenges, the leaders also discussed the ongoing crisis in Myanmar and formally accepted Timor-Leste as a full member, effective October 2025.
