Border Clash: Thai and Cambodian Soldiers Exchange Fire

Thai and Cambodian soldiers exchanged fire on the disputed border in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, early Saturday morning. The incident, according to Thai Major General Winai Suvari, began when Cambodian soldiers crossed the border. "A group of Cambodian soldiers intruded into our territory," Suvari stated. The Thai military responded, resulting in a brief exchange of gunfire. However, a ceasefire was quickly reached after a phone conversation between deputy commanders from both countries.
