MACC Seizes RM32 Million in Assets from 'Tan Sri's' Residence Kuala Lumpur, May 29, 2025 – In a major development in the ongoing investigation into the misappropriation of funds within a highway construction project, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has seized assets totaling RM32 million from the residence of a prominent individual known only as 'Tan Sri'. The raid, conducted on Thursday, resulted in the discovery and seizure of a wide range of luxury items. Among the items seized were 217 luxury watches from various brands, estimated to be worth approximately RM5 million. Also confiscated were 27 high-end handbags valued at over RM1 million, and jewelry exceeding RM4 million in value. Adding to the significant haul, nine luxury vehicles, including Bentleys, Mercedes-Benzes, and Range Rovers were also seized, with an estimated value of nearly RM7 million. A source close to the investigation stated, "This is a significant step forward in uncovering the extent of the alleged corruption." The MACC also found a storage unit filled with luxury alcoholic beverages, adding another RM3 million to the total value of seized assets. The MACC's investigation is focused on alleged embezzlement of funds from the highway construction project in Lembah Klang. The seizure of these assets underscores the seriousness of the allegations and the MACC's commitment to pursuing this case.
