
Malaysian Hajj Pilgrim Dies of Heart Attack in Mecca
A Malaysian hajj pilgrim, Misnan Ahmad, died of a heart attack in Mecca on Friday. The news was confirmed by the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr. Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, who expressed his condolences to the family. Tabung Haji will take care of the burial arrangements and will perform the badal haji (proxy pilgrimage) on behalf of the deceased. This is the fifth death of a Malaysian pilgrim in Mecca this year, according to the report. "Tabung Haji will also manage the process of repatriation and the body is scheduled to be buried on Saturday," stated the report. The incident highlights the health risks associated with the Hajj pilgrimage, and underscores the support provided by Tabung Haji to grieving families.
