Malaysian National Service Trainees Sharpen Skills, Build Confidence at Shooting Range
National Service Trainees in Malaysia Gain Confidence Through Shooting Practice In a recent development, trainees of the National Service Training Department (JLKN) in Malaysia participated in two shooting practice sessions. The sessions, held on Wednesday and Thursday, involved different groups of trainees. This training is part of the JLKN 3.0 program, which aims to incorporate more military-style training. The program's goal is to help build self-confidence and discipline in young people. Colonel TUDM Mazlizan Sheikh Osman, the director of JLKN's operations and training division, stated that these sessions are part of a broader effort to enhance the military aspects of the program. He emphasized that this is not just about shooting; it's about instilling discipline and self-belief in the trainees. One trainee from Sabah, Desmond Oliver Jila Sunpongon, shared his experience: "This program is very effective in building confidence and a disciplined spirit among young people, often labeled as the 'spoiled generation.'" The JLKN 3.0 program, which began on May 11th and runs until June 24th, includes various activities alongside the shooting practice. A future program, JLKN 3.0 Series 3, is scheduled for September 7th to October 21st. The shooting practice sessions demonstrate the JLKN's commitment to providing comprehensive training that goes beyond basic skills, fostering personal growth and contributing to national development.
