New Belarusian Law Requires Drivers to Clear Snow Around Parked Cars

MINSK, BELARUS – A new regulation in Belarus has sparked discussion among drivers. Starting May 16th, 2025, drivers are now legally obligated to clear snow and ice from around their parked vehicles. Failure to comply results in fines up to 4,200 rubles. "It's a new rule, and I'm not sure how it will work in practice," said one Minsk resident in a recent video discussing the change. The regulation aims to improve pedestrian safety and maintain clear walkways during winter months. While some drivers express concern about the practicality of the rule, especially in heavy snowfalls, others see it as a necessary measure for public safety.
