Millions in Maternity Benefit Fraud Alleged in Kazakhstan. A wave of complaints has hit the town of Shyeli in Kazakhstan's Kyzylorda Oblast. Several women claim they were defrauded of millions of tenge by a woman who promised to expedite their maternity benefit payments. One victim, Akbayan Kenje, stated, "I gave her the money in March, and I haven't heard from her since." Shyeli District Police Department confirmed they're investigating, under Article 190 of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
