Trump Administration Orders Incineration of Humanitarian Food Aid
A recent report from The Atlantic indicates a significant decision by the Trump administration regarding humanitarian aid. According to the publication, the administration has ordered the incineration of nearly 500 metric tons of emergency food supplies. These supplies, specifically high-energy biscuits valued at $800,000, were reportedly purchased by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) during the previous Biden administration. The food was originally designated for distribution to children in Afghanistan and Pakistan, with an estimated capacity to feed approximately 1.5 million children for one week. The decision to incinerate the food, which was stored in a Dubai warehouse, means it will not reach the intended beneficiaries.
