Crypto King's Arrest: Kidnapping, Torture, and a Shocking Discovery in NYC
New York City: Cryptocurrency Millionaire Arrested for Kidnapping and Torture A Swiss cryptocurrency millionaire, John Woeltz, was arrested in New York City on Friday following the alleged kidnapping and torture of an Italian tourist. The victim, whose name has not been released, told police he arrived in New York on May 6th and went to Woeltz's home, where Woeltz allegedly stole his passport and threatened his life. The victim managed to escape Friday morning and alert authorities. Police subsequently arrested Woeltz, who was found barefoot and wearing a bathrobe. Evidence collected at the scene included a saw, chicken wire, body armor, ammunition, and Polaroid photos of the victim with a gun pointed at his head. "I saw a sort of SWAT team going with the shields, and then shortly after that I saw a guy in a white robe and handcuffs come out." said a local eyewitness. Woeltz has been charged with kidnapping, assault, and unlawful imprisonment and is being held without bail. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are exploring whether the victim was hired for sex work and if the two knew each other from the cryptocurrency world. Woeltz is due back in court on Wednesday. His lawyer has not commented on the case.
