Air Force Cadet Killed in Texas Jet Ski Hit-and-Run

A tragic accident occurred on Lake Grapevine, Texas, on Sunday night, claiming the life of Ava Moore, an 18-year-old Air Force Academy cadet candidate. Moore was kayaking when she was struck by a jet ski driven by Daikerlyn Gonzalez Gonzalez, 21. Gonzalez fled the scene, but was later apprehended and charged with manslaughter. A witness described the chaotic scene: "Once she came out of the water, I just had them lay her down and kind of started helping." Despite efforts to save her, Moore succumbed to her injuries. Authorities also charged Michel Cuero Perozo for allegedly assisting Gonzalez's escape. Both Gonzalez and Perozo are from Venezuela. The family is requesting privacy as they grieve the loss of their daughter.
