Chicago Restaurant Hit by Burglars for Third Time in Two Years
A Northwest Side Chicago restaurant, Big League Burgers, has been targeted by burglars for the third time in less than two years. The most recent incident occurred in the early hours of June 3rd, 2025. Owner Peter Mihopoulos received an alert from his security system and watched helplessly as the burglars, caught on surveillance camera, smashed a side door with a brick and stole cash from the registers. "I just saw the alert on my phone and I'm like, it can't be happening again," Mihopoulos said, expressing his frustration. Chicago police are investigating, and while the stolen amount was relatively small this time, the repeated break-ins highlight the ongoing challenges faced by small business owners in the area. The previous incidents involved ransacking of the office in addition to cash theft. The repeated nature of the crime underscores the need for improved security measures and increased police presence in the neighborhood.
