Trump Declines to Call Minnesota Governor After Political Assassination, Citing Walz as 'Whacked Out'

Former President Donald Trump has stated he will not contact Minnesota Governor Tim Walz following a recent political assassination in the state. The incident, which occurred early Saturday, involved a masked gunman disguised as a police officer who shot and killed Minnesota state Representative Melissa Hortman, a former speaker of the state House, and her husband Mark, also wounding a state senator and his wife. When asked if he had called Governor Walz, Trump responded, "I don't want to call him. He's look, I think the governor of Minnesota is so whacked out. I'm not calling him. Why would I call him?" He further elaborated, "I could call him, say, 'Hi, how you doing?' The guy doesn't have a clue. He's a mess. So, you know, I could be nice and call him, but why waste time?" In response to Trump's remarks, Governor Walz's team issued a statement saying the governor "wishes that President Trump would be a President for all Americans."
