Four Women Struck by Lightning on Florida Beach, Miraculously Survive
MARCO ISLAND, FL - Four women vacationing on Marco Island, Florida, narrowly escaped a direct lightning strike that left them unconscious but alive. The terrifying incident, which occurred at the JW Marriott Resort, was captured on video from a guest's balcony, showing the exact moment the bolt hit a nearby tiki hut where the women had sought shelter. Dark clouds had rolled in, prompting the group from Kentucky to run for cover. "The siren went off, and we knew there was a storm coming," stated one of the women in an interview. They chose a tiki hut as their nearest refuge. The video shows a bright flash as the lightning bolt connects with the hut. All four women were immediately knocked unconscious by the force of the strike. "When I picked myself up off the ground, I looked at Becky and I said, 'What in the world just happened to us?'" recounted Taylor Sturgill, one of the survivors. Other guests at the resort quickly rushed to their aid. All four women were transported to the hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries. They expressed profound gratitude for their survival, acknowledging the extreme danger they faced.
