Yellowstone's Unhurried Traffic Controller: Bison Halts Park Road
Yellowstone National Park, WY – Motorists traveling through Yellowstone National Park recently experienced a unique traffic delay, courtesy of one of the park's iconic residents. A large bull bison was filmed leisurely strolling down a paved road, effectively bringing a line of vehicles to a standstill. The video, captured by a Wyoming woman on her way home from Cooke City, shows the imposing animal confidently occupying the roadway. The narrator, who expressed her affection for bison, remarked, "Y'all know I love the bison, so I don't mind sitting here to wait." She also observed that the bison appeared to have just had a "nice fresh shower," noting the recent rain in the area.Such encounters are a common, albeit charming, part of the Yellowstone experience, reminding visitors of the park's wild nature and the need to respect its inhabitants' space. The "one-man bison jam," as the narrator humorously dubbed it, eventually cleared, allowing traffic to resume.
