KUALA TERENGGANU, Malaysia – An AirAsia flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu on August 14, 2025, experienced multiple failed landing attempts at Sultan Mahmud Airport (TGG) before eventually landing safely after a prolonged delay. Flight AK6226, an Airbus A320-216, was observed via FlightRadar24 making several circular patterns over the sea off the coast of Kuala Terengganu. Passengers on board reported significant turbulence and anxiety during the extended flight. One passenger stated, "It was very scary inside the flight. The pilot tried to land three times but couldn't due to strong turbulence." Another passenger confirmed, "My mother-in-law and father-in-law were on that flight. We were very worried, but thankfully, everything is fine." The flight, originally scheduled to arrive at 6:55 PM, eventually landed at 10:15 PM. The incident highlights the challenges faced by pilots when navigating adverse weather conditions, ensuring passenger safety remains the utmost priority.
