
Construction Boss Arrested: \$81,000 Fraud Rocks Bishkek
Bishkek Construction Company Director Detained Amidst Fraud Allegations Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – Azamat Melisov, director of the Orgtekhstroy construction company, has been detained following accusations of fraud. A Bishkek resident reported to authorities that she had entered into a contract with Melisov and Manas Esengul uulu, the company's chairman, to exchange her apartment for two new ones. However, she claims they defrauded her of $81,000. "They promised me two apartments, but I lost everything," the victim stated in her complaint. The Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the arrest. The case against Esengul uulu has been forwarded to the court, while Melisov's case is being investigated separately. Further complicating matters, Melisov is also implicated in a separate fraud and abuse of power case. On May 21st, he was remanded to pre-trial detention for one month. Subsequently, on May 27th, the case materials were transferred to the prosecutor's office for review before being sent to court. This case highlights the importance of due diligence in real estate transactions and underscores the ongoing efforts to combat fraud in Kyrgyzstan.
