Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga Announces Key Development Projects. Governor Gladys Wanga Oduoko recently addressed residents of Homa Bay County, outlining several crucial development initiatives. Her speech, delivered in Dholuo, focused on plans to economically empower local communities through infrastructure projects. "The construction of ten new fresh produce markets will provide farmers and traders with better access to markets," the governor stated. These markets are planned for Kijebi, Luanda, Sindo, Mbita, Ndhiwa, Rodi Kopany, Kindubay, Misambani, Kobodo, and Homa Bay fish market. In addition, the revitalization of piers in Homa Bay, Kendu Bay, and Mbita will improve connectivity across Lake Victoria. The governor also highlighted the upcoming launch of the Lake Victoria public ferry, further enhancing transportation and trade. These projects align with this year's theme of the blue economy and maritime affairs, and the government is actively seeking support for establishing a Blue Economy Center of Excellence at Tom Mboya University.
