Local Woman Shares Heartwarming Journey of Befriending Wild Rabbits
Dallas, TX – Ali Jones, a local mother, has captured the hearts of many with her ongoing efforts to befriend a family of wild rabbits in her backyard. In a recent update, Jones shared the progress of her unique endeavor, highlighting the importance of proper care for these furry visitors. Following an outpouring of suggestions from her online community, Jones has adjusted her feeding practices. "I learned that the bird seed, which the bunnies were eating, is not good for their digestion," Jones explained in her video. She has since switched to "Oxbow Adult Rabbit Food" pellets, ensuring a healthier diet for the wild family. Jones showcased her dedicated setup, which includes bowls filled with the specialized rabbit food and a separate bowl of fresh water, often kept cool with ice. She also provided a small wooden shelter, originally a cat house, offering the rabbits a safe haven. "They have some shelter if they need it," she noted. The effort has become a family affair, with Jones mentioning her toddler's enthusiasm for helping to distribute the pellets. To further protect the rabbits, all bird seed has been removed from ground level and is now kept exclusively in elevated feeders. This ongoing story reflects a growing interest in coexisting harmoniously with local wildlife.
