Gaza Aid Seekers Shot: At Least Eight Dead in Latest Israeli Attack
Israeli forces killed at least eight Palestinians near a food distribution point in Rafah governorate, Gaza, on June 9, 2025, according to the Wafa news agency. This incident follows a similar attack on June 8, where 13 Palestinians, including Khaled Doghmah, a father of five, were killed while trying to collect aid. Doghmah's wife, Sanaa, recounted the tragedy, saying, "They said Khaled was shot in the head by a sniper. What can I do? He did not have a plane, a missile, or anything else." A witness, Zahed Ben Hassan, stated, "We were on our way to the aid area to get food for our children when the shooting started. He was shot in the eye, heart, and leg." The aid distribution is located inside fenced-off areas, making access difficult for civilians. The killings are the latest in a series of attacks on aid seekers, with over 130 Palestinians killed and more than 700 wounded. The aid program faces condemnation from rights groups for enabling atrocities and violating basic humanitarian standards.
