Video: Procesijas laikā cieš Aglonas Dievmātes svētbildes kopija
Svētbildes kopijas rāmis esot ļoti smags, un citus gadus tos esot nesuši "spēcīgi vīrieši, bet šogad – jauni puikas", kuri to nav spējuši noturēt.
A significant incident occurred during the annual pilgrimage in Aglona, Latvia, on August 14, 2025, when a large, revered icon unexpectedly fell to the ground. The event took place as participants were carefully carrying the ornate icon down a set of steps near the church. Eyewitnesses reported that the icon, held by multiple individuals, suddenly lost balance and toppled over. Immediately following the fall, numerous pilgrims and clergy members rushed forward to assist in lifting the heavy frame, demonstrating a collective effort to restore the sacred object. While the cause of the fall has not been officially stated, some onlookers speculated about the difficulty of navigating the steps with such a large and heavy object. The incident, captured on video, has sparked widespread discussion among the faithful, with some interpreting it as a symbolic sign. Fortunately, there were no reports of serious injuries to those involved in carrying the icon or to the surrounding crowd. The procession continued after the icon was safely righted.
