Earthquake in Lima: Building Collapse Injures Woman, Damages Vehicles

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Lima and Callao, Peru, on June 16, 2025, causing damage and injuries. Falling debris from a building under construction damaged at least two vehicles. One woman, Kati Ramos, 31, suffered injuries to her face from a falling brick and was treated at the scene. "It happened so fast," said Jorge Luis Chacaltana, owner of one of the damaged vehicles. "A wall from the building just came down." Ms. Ramos was treated for her injuries and released from the hospital.
