Madrid, Spain A critical safety oversight has been identified on a Mercedes-Benz GLC 43 AMG, raising concerns about vehicle maintenance standards. Automotive expert Ángel Gaitan, from Gt Automoción, recently showcased the issue in a widely viewed online video. During a routine inspection, Gaitan discovered that the safety wire, crucial for securing the brake pad pins within the caliper, was entirely missing. He demonstrated the ease with which these pins could become dislodged without the wire, a situation he described as "quite dangerous," particularly for a powerful vehicle like the AMG. "This is a very serious matter," Gaitan stated in his video, "This car has a lot of power, many horses. Imagine if I pull this wire out... if it comes out, the brake pad comes out." He further explained that manufacturer guidelines typically require this safety component to be replaced with a new one during every brake maintenance service, alongside cleaning the movable parts. The incident highlights the potential risks associated with improper vehicle servicing and underscores the importance of thorough and professional automotive care. It serves as a stark reminder for vehicle owners to ensure their maintenance providers adhere to strict safety protocols.
