
Mass Stabbing at Oregon Homeless Shelter Sends 11 to Hospital
Salem, Oregon, was the scene of a shocking incident on Sunday evening, June 1st, 2025. A stabbing at the Union Gospel Mission left eleven people injured, five of whom sustained serious injuries. Police responded to a call at approximately 7:15 pm and found multiple victims. According to Salem Police Department spokesperson, "Witnesses reported the suspect was speaking to individuals in the lobby when he produced a knife and stabbed several people." The suspect, identified as Tony Latrell Williams, age 42, of Bend, Oregon, was apprehended nearby. The weapon was recovered. All victims were transported to Salem Health for treatment. This incident underscores the need for increased safety measures and support for vulnerable populations in the community. The investigation is ongoing.
