Court Staff Disciplined After Defendants' Laughter Accidentally Broadcast During Trial
A technical error during the live online broadcast of the trial of Sherzat Polat in Kazakhstan has resulted in disciplinary action against three court staff members. Judge Yerzhan Zhanuzaqov stated that the staff's failure to promptly stop the stream led to the broadcast of a video showing the defendants laughing. "The incident is regrettable, and we are taking steps to prevent similar occurrences," Judge Zhanuzaqov said in a statement. Rustam Muksinov, Nazira Orazaliyeva, and Saule Kaidagulova have been disciplined for their roles in the incident. The court is also investigating a separate video that surfaced showing comments made by the defendants during a recess. This incident highlights the challenges of live online broadcasting in high-profile trials and the importance of strict adherence to protocols. The court's swift response demonstrates a commitment to transparency and accountability.
