Nine Civilians Killed in Russian Drone Strike in Ukraine
A Russian drone strike in the Sumy region of northern Ukraine has tragically claimed the lives of nine civilians and injured four more. The attack, which targeted a minibus traveling near Bilopillia, occurred just one day after peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia ended without a breakthrough in Istanbul. Oleg Grygorov, head of the Sumy military administration, stated that "the enemy continues to cynically destroy our citizens." President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the incident on social media, expressing his condolences to the victims' families and highlighting that the victims were all civilians. This attack underscores the ongoing conflict and the devastating impact on innocent lives. The Sumy region, bordering Russia, has experienced a surge in shelling since Ukrainian forces withdrew from the area in March, indicating an escalation in hostilities.
