A former Scientologist, Aaron Smith-Levin, recently shared insights into the founding and core tenets of Scientology, a topic that continues to draw public interest and scrutiny. Smith-Levin, who identifies as having been a Scientologist for three decades, presented his account in response to a recruitment video by a current volunteer. According to Smith-Levin, the Church of Scientology originated approximately 75 years ago from the work of L. Ron Hubbard, a science fiction writer. He stated that Hubbard initially developed a mental health therapy called Dianetics. When this procedure did not yield the desired results, Hubbard reportedly continued to develop new concepts. Smith-Levin detailed what he described as the 'uppermost confidential levels' of Scientology's beliefs. He explained that these teachings posit that humans carry tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of 'sick, half-dead, disoriented alien beings' stuck to their bodies. These beings, according to Scientology's narrative, experienced a traumatic incident 75 million years ago, involving transportation to Earth from a 'Galactic Confederacy,' being dropped into volcanoes, and detonated with hydrogen bombs. He further elaborated that Scientology's procedures, which can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, are designed to allow individuals to telepathically communicate with these alien entities. The goal, he explained, is to help these beings resolve their past traumas and convince them to leave the human body, after which they are believed to pick up new bodies of their own. Smith-Levin concluded by cautioning viewers about Scientology recruiters on platforms like TikTok, asserting that Scientologists are not permitted to disclose these core beliefs.
