Fuel Theft on Belarusian Farm Sparks Embezzlement Investigation
In the Baranovichi region of Belarus, a tractor driver's actions have led to an embezzlement investigation. Surveillance footage obtained by authorities shows the driver systematically siphoning diesel fuel from a tractor into canisters, which were then transported to a nearby garage. The total amount stolen was 320 liters, causing significant financial losses for the farm. Artem Davidovich, head of the Baranovichi city internal affairs department's economic crime unit, stated, "In the period from the 17th to the 26th of April, a group of individuals stole diesel fuel entrusted to the tractor driver." The farm's engineer, Aleksei Grigorovich, noted that this is not the first such incident. The prosecutor's office has classified the incident as embezzlement, and the investigation is ongoing. This case highlights the need for improved security measures in Belarusian agriculture to prevent future fuel thefts and protect the country's food security.
