Belarus Eases Labor Migration with New Decree: Grodno Factory Shows the Way
Grodno Factory Welcomes Turkmenistani Workers Under New Labor Migration Decree A Belarusian factory, Belcard, located in Grodno, has recently employed 37 workers from Turkmenistan. This follows the implementation of a new decree designed to streamline and improve the labor migration process in Belarus. The decree aims to provide better working conditions and ensure that foreign workers are treated fairly. Yaklym Gurbanow, a Turkmenistani worker at Belcard, shared his experience, stating, "There are challenges in any job, of course, but I'm satisfied." He highlighted the positive aspects of his employment, including the provision of housing and medical care. Yuri Bekish, Deputy Director for Ideological Work and Personnel at Belcard, emphasized the importance of clear contracts and open communication: "The cornerstone is the relationship between us and the migrants, the signing of a contract so that they understand their obligations, and we know ours." The factory's proactive approach in providing housing and medical care for its foreign workforce aligns with the decree's goals. This initiative not only benefits the individual workers but also contributes to the economic growth of the Grodno region. The success of this program could serve as a model for other Belarusian companies looking to attract and retain skilled foreign labor.
