Fatal Lorry Accident in Perak: Driver Arrested, Investigation Underway

A fatal road accident occurred in Perak, Malaysia on May 13, 2025, involving a sand lorry. The driver has been arrested, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. According to ACP Dr. Bakri Zainal Abidin, Chief of Police, Hilir Perak, the 45-year-old driver tested negative for drugs but has six prior offenses. "The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987," stated ACP Dr. Bakri. Nine men, seven Muslim and two non-Muslim, in their 40s, were victims. Authorities are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information.
