Malaysian Schools Go Virtual for ASEAN Summit
Kuala Lumpur and Selangor schools to conduct home-based learning during ASEAN Summit 71 schools in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor will be conducting home-based teaching and learning (PDPR) from May 26th to 28th, 2025. This decision by the Ministry of Education (KPM) is in response to the 46th ASEAN Summit, which will cause significant road closures and increased security measures in the area. The KPM aims to ensure that students' education is not disrupted by these events. Among the schools affected are several prominent institutions in Kuala Lumpur, including SMK Convent Bukit Nanas, St John Institution, and SMK Maxwell. In Selangor, schools such as SMK Shah Alam, SJK(C) Union, and SK Lembah Subang will also be implementing PDPR. This proactive measure demonstrates the Malaysian government's commitment to maintaining educational continuity even during major events.
