Malaysia Relaxes LPG Regulations for Small Food Vendors
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – In a move to support small businesses, the Malaysian government has announced a significant change to regulations governing the use of subsidized Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by micro and small-scale food vendors. Effective October 31, 2025, these vendors will no longer be required to possess a Permit Kawalan Bekalan Berjadual (PBKB) license to access subsidized LPG. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali. "This relaxation is provided so that the process of amending the existing control regulations can be implemented," said Datuk Armizan. The decision, made during a cabinet meeting, is expected to benefit thousands of small food businesses across the country, simplifying operations and reducing bureaucratic burdens. The video shows various food vendors in action, illustrating the positive impact of this change. The removal of the PBKB requirement is a significant step towards easing regulations and fostering a more supportive business environment for micro and small-scale enterprises in Malaysia.
