

Special Task Force Formed to Investigate Fatal UPSI Student Bus Crash
A tragic bus accident involving students from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) on June 10, 2025, has prompted the formation of a special task force to investigate the incident. The announcement was made by Datuk Seri Mohd. Yusri Hassan Basri, director of Bukit Aman JSPT, during a press conference. "We will form a special investigation team," Basri stated, "to thoroughly investigate all aspects, including driver records, past traffic violations, and the physical condition of the vehicle involved." The task force will collaborate with various technical agencies, including the Malaysian Road Transport Department (JPJ), the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), and the Department of Chemistry, Ministry of Health. The comprehensive investigation aims to ensure a thorough understanding of the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event and prevent similar tragedies in the future. The accident occurred on a winding road outside of the university campus, resulting in multiple fatalities. The investigation is expected to take several weeks.
