"Like putting lipstick on a pig": Lawyer warns against "dangerous" indoor firep…
"I guess we need to get rid of them."
Los Angeles, CA – Despite ongoing lawsuits and a history of severe injuries, dangerous firepots continue to be widely available for purchase online, according to the Biren Law Group. These decorative items, which typically use isopropyl alcohol as fuel, pose a significant risk of violent flame jetting if refueled while hot, leading to burn injuries and even fatalities. Attorney [Speaker's Name, if known, otherwise use 'a legal representative'] from the Biren Law Group stated, "It’s 2025 and these dangerous firepots are still being sold online. You can find them on Amazon, Wayfair, Target, Maison de Kristine, Housewise, even eBay." He emphasized that these are not harmless decor items, and when one brand is removed from the market or banned, another similar product often takes its place. The law group has been litigating cases involving firepot injuries since 2019. "For companies like Amazon or Wayfair, who have been implicated in these lawsuits for selling products that have killed and injured people, to still be selling versions that are just the same product with a different name, it’s like putting lipstick on a pig," the attorney asserted. He described the situation as "insane and so reckless," highlighting that sellers are aware of the dangers yet continue to allow sales. "This entire genre of product is dangerous!" he declared. "You cannot make indoor/outdoor fire pots safe the way they are being constructed. It’s that simple." The group urges consumers to be aware of the risks and for authorities to take stronger action to remove these products from the market.
