Paris, France – For culinary enthusiasts, bringing home a taste of France, particularly its renowned butter, can be a challenge. Hana Asbrink, Deputy Food Editor, recently shared her expert method for safely transporting coveted French Bordier butter from Paris to the United States.Asbrink visited La Grande Épicerie de Paris, a gourmet food hall, where she highlighted the extensive selection of butters, including various flavored Bordier options like seaweed-infused and black peppercorn. Her key tip for international travel involves vacuum sealing. For an additional 1 per purchase, customers can have their butter vacuum-sealed directly at the store's register.Upon returning to her hotel, Asbrink advises freezing the vacuum-sealed butter. She then recommends placing the frozen butter in checked baggage, rather than carry-on, to ensure it remains cold and intact during the flight. For four blocks of butter, the total cost was approximately $40 USD, a significant saving compared to purchasing the same product in New York. This method ensures that the delicate French butter arrives safely, ready to be enjoyed at home.
