Oradea, Romania – A 60-year-old American solo traveler, known as Brett, recently concluded his 90-day stay in Romania, sharing a heartfelt reflection on his time in the country. Standing in Oradea, Brett revealed that his journey through Romania profoundly challenged his initial, negatively-biased perceptions, which he attributed to Western media portrayals. "Before I got here in Romania, coming from the United States, I had preconceived notions about her," Brett stated in his video. "I thought of vampires and gypsies and a third-world country. But let me tell you, it's far from that." He emphasized that his experience was "just the opposite" of these stereotypes. Brett lauded Romania for its rich history, its significant progress over the past 25 years, and the remarkable qualities of its people and society. "You Romanians have so much to be proud of," he remarked. He specifically highlighted the country's culture, hospitality, and food as "off the chart." Furthermore, he praised the work-life balance, cleanliness, safety, and freedoms, asserting that these aspects are "leaps and bounds over the United States." As his visa period concludes, Brett is now set to explore other Balkan nations, including Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Macedonia. He expressed immense gratitude for his time in Romania, concluding, "You made me a better person. I have no words for it."
