Cat's Mugshot Goes Viral, Leads to Happy Reunion
A lost American Shorthair cat named Nub Tang was brought to a Bangkok police station in May 2025. Initially friendly, Nub Tang unexpectedly scratched several officers on duty. Officer Pakeesuk, known for his animal rescue efforts, saw this as an opportunity to use social media to find the cat's owner. He took a mugshot and paw prints of Nub Tang, and posted them on Facebook with a playful caption about the cat's 'arrest'. The post went viral, generating considerable media attention. According to a Thai media outlet, the owner contacted the station the very next day. Nub Tang was happily reunited with her family. "This cat has been charged with assaulting police officers and is about to be detained. Please share this post so her owner can come and bail her out," Officer Pakeesuk wrote on Facebook. The incident highlights the unexpected ways in which social media can be used for good, and the heartwarming outcome underscores the human-animal bond.
