
Hong Kong Streamer Harassed in Cannes, Mayor Files Complaint Over Antisemitic Remarks
CANNES, France - A Hong Kong Twitch streamer, Iris Siri129, was reportedly subjected to harassment and antisemitic remarks on June 20 while live streaming in Cannes. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight, involved two individuals who followed the streamer and made offensive comments. According to reports, the men's remarks included sexist and antisemitic insults. Although the streamer stated she did not fully understand the French language, she recognized the hostile nature of the comments. In response to the widely circulated video of the incident, Cannes Mayor David Lisnard announced that a formal complaint has been filed with the Public Prosecutor's Office. Mayor Lisnard confirmed that the two individuals seen in the video have been identified. "Everything has been forwarded to the judicial authorities and national police to arrest them. They are not from the commune," he stated, emphasizing the city's commitment to addressing such acts. The streamer later expressed her shock and gratitude for the swift action taken by the Cannes authorities.
