Paris Boulevard Temporarily Renamed 'Boulevard Ousmane' in Apple Maps After PSG Win
Paris, France – Boulevard Haussmann, one of Paris's most iconic avenues, recently saw its name temporarily altered to "Boulevard Ousmane" within Apple Maps. This unofficial change was a tribute to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Ousmane Dembélé, orchestrated by enthusiastic PSG supporters following the club's victory in the Champions League against Inter Milan. The video explains that the digital renaming was a direct consequence of a fan prank. After PSG's triumph, supporters placed custom stickers bearing "Boulevard Ousmane" onto the official street signs in the 8th and 9th arrondissements, with an additional inscription "Décrocheur d'Étoile 2025" (Star-Grabber 2025), referencing PSG's Champions League win. These personalized signs remained in place for only a few hours. Apple's mapping application allows users to suggest corrections and modifications to street names, places, or avenues. It is understood that a sufficient number of these user-submitted suggestions led to the temporary digital alteration of Boulevard Haussmann to Boulevard Ousmane in the app. As of now, Apple has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
