Angel Reese rants for WNBA to ‘do better’ with officiating in fiery posts
The 23-year-old demanded that the WNBA take action about the apparent lack of fouls called in the paint following a Sky loss on Sunday.
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese voiced strong criticism regarding the officiating in the team's recent game against the Minnesota Lynx. Speaking at a post-game press conference, Reese highlighted what she perceived as a significant disparity in free throw opportunities. "I am tired of the s**t... 'Cause I've been nice and humble with it, but I'm tired of the s**t," Reese stated, addressing the issue of foul calls. She specifically noted that the Chicago Sky had only shot two free throws up until the fourth quarter of the game. Reese expressed her frustration with the situation, indicating that she has previously approached officials about such concerns. She added that she is prepared to face any potential fines for her candid remarks, describing the officiating as "cheap." Despite the loss, Reese acknowledged her team's effort, stating, "We fought really hard... We came down and fought as hard as we could with what we had." She believes the team will continue to grow from this experience and can compete with the best, but reiterated the need for officiating issues to be addressed.
