Dominican Republic Launches New Policing System with 1000+ Officers
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – May 26, 2025 – The Dominican government has unveiled a new policing strategy aimed at enhancing citizen security. The plan, spearheaded by Minister of the Presidency José Ignacio Paliza, involves deploying more than 1,000 police officers across four key areas. "This new patrol model is scalable and will be implemented in different parts of the country as needed," Paliza stated during a press conference. The initial rollout will begin in Santo Domingo and Santiago in June 2025. The initiative is part of a larger police reform effort. In addition to the new patrol system, the video also briefly mentions a separate case involving an assault on a family in the province of Ajabon, currently under investigation by the Public Ministry. This comprehensive approach to security and justice demonstrates the government's commitment to a safer and more secure Dominican Republic.
