
Malaysian Lawn Bowls Players Shine on World Stage, National Championship to Follow
Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia – Lawn bowls, a sport often overlooked, is making waves internationally thanks to the success of Malaysian athletes. Nor Farah Ain Abdullah, currently ranked world number one, is a shining example of this growing talent pool. A recent video highlights not only her accomplishments but also the vibrant Terengganu lawn bowls program, which is actively scouting young talent. "I've been playing since I was in first grade," shares Muhammad Aidil Irfan bin Aswardi, a young lawn bowler from SMK Tengku Mizan Zainal Abidin. "I even won a gold medal at the national level in 2024." This program has already involved nearly 20 schools, fostering a new generation of players. The video culminates in an announcement of the upcoming National Lawn Bowls Championship U12 & U18, taking place from May 30th to June 3rd, 2025, at the Arena Lawn Bowls, Kompleks Sukan Negeri Terengganu, Kuala Nerus.
