Thai Elephant's Unexpected Grocery Run

A grocery store in Thailand received an unusual customer on Monday, June 2nd, 2025. A wild male elephant, known locally as Plai Biang Lek, wandered into the shop and helped himself to some sweet rice crackers, a sandwich, and bananas. According to a local ranger, "Plai Biang Lek is a familiar sight near Kha Yai National Park and is known to enter houses looking for food." The elephant caused minimal damage, mainly leaving messy shelves behind. After about 10 minutes, rangers arrived and successfully guided the elephant out of the store safely. The incident highlights the unique challenges of living near wildlife.
