Why fans think Taylor Swift’s ‘Actually Romantic’ is a Charli XCX diss track
Although Charli opened up for Swift in 2018, the two pop stars have been plagued by feud rumors in recent years.
Pop artist Charli XCX recently addressed online speculation regarding her latest album, 'Brat,' clarifying that the majority of its tracks are not 'diss tracks' as some have suggested. In a video statement, the artist explained, 'I’m seeing online that some people think there are diss tracks on Brat.' She further elaborated that, with the potential exception of 'Von Dutch,' the songs primarily explore the multifaceted challenges of being a female artist. 'They’re really just about how it’s so complicated being an artist, especially a female artist,' Charli XCX stated. She detailed the pressures of being 'pitted against your peers' while simultaneously being 'expected to be best friends with every single person constantly.' The artist also touched upon the emotional spectrum experienced, from feeling 'on top of the world' to 'unbelievably insecure,' 'highly competitive,' or even 'literal trash.' She concluded by noting, 'We’re not supposed to talk about it, but these songs do talk about it.'
