According to Podolyan, a carton of milk costs 3.05 Euros, which she noted is equivalent to 6 Australian dollars. She also pointed out a bottle of Head & Shoulders shampoo priced at 8.55 Euros, converting to approximately 16 Australian dollars. Adding to her concern, Podolyan recounted a conversation with a local taxi driver who informed her that the average monthly income for a Croatian is around 800 Euros. This figure, she explained, translates to roughly 1600 Australian dollars per month, leading her to question how residents manage to afford daily necessities given the observed prices.
