Moldovan Police Apprehend Murder Suspect, Officer Injured in Arrest

Chisinau Murder: 48-Year-Old Suspect Apprehended in Connection with Woman's Death A 60-year-old woman was murdered in Chisinau, Moldova, on the night of April 14-15. Police have arrested a 48-year-old man from Gagauzia in connection with the crime. According to Police Chief Viorel Cernăuțeanu, the suspect is also believed to be involved in several other robberies in the area. "The suspect entered the victim's property, studied the situation, and then carried out the crime," stated Chief Cernăuțeanu during a press conference. Security camera footage shows the suspect approaching the victim's home. The arrest involved a confrontation, resulting in injuries to one police officer. "Colleagues tried to intervene, and the suspect opened fire," Cernăuțeanu explained. The suspect's son and wife were also detained. The injured officer is recovering. The investigation is ongoing.
