Moldova Hosts Education Week 2025: A National Dialogue on Transformation Moldova recently held its second annual Education Week (May 22-25, 2025), a national initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Education. This event aimed to foster a dialogue on the transformation and innovation needed within the country's education system. The week included a variety of events designed for students, teachers, and the wider community. The launch event, held on May 22nd at Mediacor, featured Minister Dan Perciun, who addressed current challenges and future objectives. "We will discuss the current challenges and realities, and also discuss development in terms of creating model schools," stated Minister Perciun. A subsequent conference, "Dialoguri pentru viitor – educație între algoritmi și umanitate," took place on May 24th at the National Mihai Eminescu Theater, focusing on the future of education and the balance between algorithms and humanity. The week concluded with a national university fair on May 25th, showcasing opportunities for graduates. Minister Perciun also highlighted both the significant progress made in recent years and the persistent challenges, such as an aging teaching staff and insufficient infrastructure in some institutions. Education Week 2025 received support from various international organizations, including the World Bank, the European Union, and UNICEF, demonstrating a collaborative effort to improve Moldova's education system.
