MEXICO CITY – The literary world is abuzz with the celebration of Rosario Castellanos, one of Mexico's most influential poets, novelists, and diplomats, as 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of her birth. To commemorate this significant milestone, an exhibition titled "Un cielo sin fronteras..." (A Sky Without Borders...) has opened its doors at the historic Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso. The exhibition offers a deeply personal look into Castellanos' life and prolific career, showcasing a collection of her cherished personal belongings. Visitors can explore artifacts such as her typewriter, spectacles, original manuscripts, and a poignant array of photographs. These images chronicle her journey from childhood and youth in Chiapas to her impactful tenure as a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Gabriel Guerra Castellanos, a relative of the esteemed writer, revealed that these items were carefully preserved in boxes for over half a century, only now coming to light to "continue telling that lightning bolt that was her life." The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to connect with different facets of Rosario Castellanos, allowing visitors to hear her voice, read her poems, and delve into fragments of her novels. "Un cielo sin fronteras..." is open to the public until August 24, 2025, inviting enthusiasts of Mexican literature and history to immerse themselves in the enduring legacy of Rosario Castellanos.
