Video sorgt für Empörung: Dolomiten von Touristen überrannt
Die Seceda in den Südtiroler Dolomiten wird derzeit von Touristen regelrecht überrannt. Ein Video zeigt das Ausmaß des Massentourismus.
SECEDA, ALTO ADIGE – Hundreds of tourists were recently documented forming extensive queues for the cable car in Seceda, Alto Adige, sparking widespread debate over the growing issue of overtourism. Images and videos, which quickly went viral on social media platforms, show long lines of visitors under the scorching sun, eager to access the popular mountain destination. Carlo Zanella, president of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) Alto Adige, expressed his profound concern regarding the situation. "Today we see the effects of overtourism, but tourists are already fleeing Alto Adige," Zanella stated. He described feeling "shivers" upon seeing the viral videos, questioning the motivations of many visitors. "Honestly, going up and walking 300 meters for a photo of the Odle and Fermeda seems crazy to me. I don't believe that many of these people, once up there, will take a walk. It's the wrong user in the wrong place." Local residents and online commentators have voiced their frustration, with discussions ranging from calls for the closure of summer cable cars to significant price increases. The scene has reignited an ongoing debate about the impact of mass tourism on the delicate mountain environment and the quality of life for local communities.
