

Two Men Detained After Allegedly Assaulting Elderly Neighbors in Stoenești
Stoenești, Romania – Police in Rucăr have continued their investigation into a violent incident that occurred on June 10 in Stoenești, where an elderly couple was reportedly assaulted by two neighbors. The victims, a 67-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, were allegedly physically attacked by two men, aged 36 and 38, at the entrance to their home. The altercation, described as a spontaneous conflict, also led to a disturbance of public order. Following the collection of evidence, the two male suspects were detained for 24 hours. Authorities plan to present them to the Prosecutor's Office in Câmpulung today, with a proposal for preventive measures. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the case prosecutor to ascertain all circumstances surrounding the alleged offenses. Police emphasize that this stage is part of an ongoing criminal process, and all procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure are being respected.
